Auditions

Shakespeare & Company announces its 2024 LORT Season Equity Principle Auditions in Lenox, Mass.

  • THE COMEDY OF ERRORS by William Shakespeare (performed outdoors): first rehearsal 6/11, first preview 7/13, close 8/18;
  • world premiere THE ISLANDERS by Carey Crim: first rehearsal 7/2, first preview 7/25, close 8/25;
  • THE WINTER’S TALE by William Shakespeare (performed outdoors): first rehearsal 8/13, first preview 8/21, close 8/25.

Some THE COMEDY OF ERRORS actors will also perform in THE WINTER’S TALE; some THE COMEDY OF ERRORS actors may understudy in THE ISLANDERS.

Sunday, March 17 from 11:30 – 4:30 & 5 – 7 at Shakespeare & Company’s Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, 70 Kemble Street, Lenox, Mass. 01240; auditions are by appointment, and walk-ups will be seen as time permits.

For the Audition:
Prepare one short classical / Shakespearean monologue AND one short contemporary monologue; bring your resume and headshot stapled together to your audition appointment. Equity Members must bring their Equity Membership card to auditions.

Available roles and *pre-cast roles:
All roles that are listed as “pre-cast” have been cast without auditions; for *pre-cast roles, auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary. All gender identities are those of the characters and need not match the actors’ gender identities. 

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS: 6/11-8/18/24, LORT D at $807/week, rehearsed and performed outdoors in the Arthur S. Waldstein Amphitheatre. We welcome actors with physical skills of various kinds – dance, juggling, aerials, stilt walking, tumbling, lyra – for this production.
