Infectious Disease
Policy for Audiences
As part of our continued efforts to mitigate the spread of infectious diseases to those most susceptible to them, Shakespeare & Company will present a selection of Mask-required Performances for indoor shows during the 2023 Season. These shows are noted in our Performance Calendar.
General Infectious Disease
Policy Information
- All eligible patrons are strongly encouraged to receive a COVID-19 vaccination booster shot prior to attending any performances; vaccinations for RSV, flu, and other infectious diseases are also encouraged.
- Masks are encouraged, but optional at all outdoor performances and most indoor performances; for enhanced audience comfort and safety, masks will be required at select indoor performances only throughout the season. All ticket-holders for Mask-required Performances must wear a mask while indoors; please inquire at the Box Office for dates and times of Mask-required Performances, or refer to our online performance calendar.
- When required, masks should cover your mouth and nose, fit snugly against the sides of your face, and be a surgical, multi-ply cloth, N95, or KN95 mask. Masks cannot have an exhalation valve or be constructed of a single layer of fabric. Gaiters, scarves, and buffs are not a substitute for a multi-layer mask.
- If you are not feeling well or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or other infectious diseases as defined by the CDC, or have been exposed to anyone with the virus within the last 10 days, please wear a mask.
- These guidelines are an important part of our plan for your safety and of our obligations to the Actors' Union. Use of your ticket for a seat at the performance is dependent upon your willingness and ability to adhere to these guidelines; those that do not adhere to these guidelines will not be permitted to take their seats in the theater.
- If you feel you are unable to comply with the Infectious Disease Policy for Audiences, we ask that you refrain from attending events at our venue until these requirements change. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please note: as global health conditions are ever-evolving, these guidelines are subject to change and will be updated accordingly.
