Shakespeare & Company seeks a seasonal, full-time Electrician / Board Operator for late May through late August.

The Electrician’s responsibilities include the distribution, maintenance / upkeep of Shakespeare & Company’s lighting equipment inventory, working with Lighting Designers, Stage Managers, senior management, and artistic personnel in the completion of needed plots, cues and effects. The Electrician will also take a significant, leadership role in hanging, circuiting, focusing and/or troubleshooting the theatre lighting plots and all additional lighting and effects, and executing all electrical installations and maintenance. The Electrician shall work closely with the Technical Director and others assigned to ensure safe practices, to maintain the equipment used, and will be available for programming the board, attendance at technical rehearsals as needed, and light board op duties. This position will require familiarity with Microsoft Office; a familiarity with power and hand tools; sitting, standing, pushing and pulling, climbing and stooping; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data.


Dates are May 27 through September 1, 2024, shorter duration will be considered. Salary $18.75 per hour, local housing available.
