Position Summary
Shakespeare & Company’s Center for Actor Training is seeking an experienced, creative, and proactive individual who possesses a passion for actor training and arts administration to fill the position of Training Programs Manager. This position is responsible for the promotion, planning, administrative implementation, and management of all workshops and programs.
Responsibilities
Daily
- Manages enrollment for all workshops and programs, including processing applications, corresponding with applicants, monitoring tuition payments, processing payments as needed, and distributing workshop materials to participants
- Manages all social media accounts for the Center for Actor Training
- Manages the advertising for all programs and workshops, including coordinating with the Marketing Department to create marketing materials and update workshop information on the website, planning and supervising electronic and paper mailings, researching local advertising for off-site workshops, and exploring and developing new marketing strategies
- Designs and distributes the Center for Actor Training e-newsletter
- Assists in monitoring the budget for the Center for Actor Training, including maintaining expenditures within budget limits
- Assists in developing participant recruitment plans and policies to ensure diversity and inclusivity
- Maintains the department filing system
Project Based
- Compiles and distributes workshop materials for faculty for each individual workshop
- Assists in setting the annual calendar of all workshops offered by the Center for Actor Training, including the Month-long Intensive, the Summer Shakespeare Intensive, Weekend Intensives, college/university residencies, corporate training programs and specialized workshops (such as Dropping In, Clown, Wit, Sonnet, week-long workshops, etc) in collaboration with the Director of the Center for Actor Training
- Assists in coordinating the hiring and scheduling of faculty for all actor training programs in collaboration with the Director of the Center for Actor Training as needed
- Communicates with hosts for off-site workshops and residencies
- Assists with travel and accommodations for off-site workshops and residencies as needed
- Acts as the workshop manager for on-campus workshops and manages travel of the participants in collaboration with the Company Manager
- Processes reimbursements and vendor payments
- Monitors and provides all documentation needed for the annual audit
- Assists in hiring and supervises temporary administrative employees, such as workshop managers, office assistants, and kitchen staff for the Month-long Intensive
- Supervises interns or work-study students assigned to the Center for Actor Training
